Some Launceston pro-tips

Because local knowledge is the best knowledge.

  • It's 'Launnie', not 'Lonny'.

  • Look up. Launnie is filled with brilliant architecture.

  • Don't make eye contact with the monkeys.

  • Dress in layers: it's July in Tasmania. The venues will be warm, but the air temperature may not.

  • Don't mention parking to locals unless you have 30 minutes to spare.

Even though we have a packed program for you to enjoy, we still hope you find a few moments of downtime. If you do, here are a few suggestions on how to spend it.

  • The Launceston Library is having a feature on Gastronomy during July.

  • The conservatory in City Park is a great spot to be surrounded by plants but out of the elements.

  • The Cataract Gorge is iconic and well worth braving the chill for a walk.
